The new rule is simple:

New user registration has been disabled due to spam (and all existing "pending" user accounts have been deleted. My apologies to any "real" users - please email me as outlined below).

I'd love to have you here. Please email "forums at audiodef dot com" to ask to join this forum and I will get you set up. State which username you would like (if it already exists, I will modify it to make it unique). It cannot contain the word "Audiodef", bad language, or the names of popular spam products or anything that sounds like a product. It cannot look like a random string of letters and numbers. You will be given a password which you can change later. Please state where you heard about me and name a favourite Audiodef tune. And please do not forget that last sentence about where you heard of me and naming a favourite Audiodef tune. I will use this part the most to weed out spammers and any emails not containing this info will get summarily deleted.

I hate to sound like a hard-ass, but if your email doesn't follow the above instructions, it will get deleted. There is so much spam out there that it clogs everything up and we all have things we need to do that don't involve dealing with spam. So I'd appreciate the kindness of adhering to the username request guidelines.

As time permits, I will ask around on computer forums I belong to about better ways to handle automated registration that cut down on spammers and hopefully implement a better automated registration method in the future.
